This is a pair of high quality cut lead crystal port glasses from the ‘Imperial’ suite by Stuart Crystal.
The bowl is approximately bucket shaped with a thickened base. The centre is cut with a continuous panel of two rows of interlocking criss-crosses, bordered above and below by a pair of circumferential wedge cuts. Above this are five sets of two pairs of curved leaf cuts. The lower part of the bowl is cut with a stylised foliage design. The short stem has a central ball knop. The foot is plain and marked in the centre with the words ‘STUART ENGLAND’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 8.8cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 6.2cm and across the foot of about 5.3cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
