Pair of Royal Doulton ‘Juliette’ Design Lead Crystal Wine Glasses (7 ¾”)

This is a pair of high-quality cut and moulded lead crystal wine glasses from the ‘Juliette’ suite by Royal Doulton.

The capacious bowl merges imperceptibly with the plain, straight stem. It is cut with four large criss-crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come in to close approximation. Each large cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan. Below the centre of each large cross is a further small cross with elongated upper limbs. These bisect the lower limbs of the large crosses and meet with the upper limbs of adjacent small crosses to form a kite-shaped panel. This is decorated with a lattice formed by two pairs of parallel lines.

The foot is plain and marked at the edge with words ‘ROYAL DOULTON’ surrounding a central crown motif.

Each glass has a height of approximately 19.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.3cm and across the foot of about 7.1cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.

They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd wear and tear scratch commensurate with use.
