This is a pair of high quality cut lead crystal tumblers from the ‘Popular’ range by Royal Brierley.
The glass is approximately cylindrical in shape with a thickened base. It is cut in its lower half with two large criss-crosses, the upper limbs of which are elongated and come in to close approximation. Below this point is a further criss-cross. Above the centre of each large cross is a three-pointed fan.
The base is star cut and marked with the word ‘BRIERLEY’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 8.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.3cm and across the base of about 4.8cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
