Pair of Edinburgh Crystal ‘Romeo’ Design Wine Goblets

This is a pair of high quality moulded lead crystal wine goblets from the ‘Romeo’ suite by Edinburgh Crystal. The conical shaped bowl merges imperceptibly with the long straight stem. The bowl has a design in its lower part consisting of six large moulded criss-crosses, the upper arms of which contain a three-pointed ‘fan’. Within the diamond-shaped panel between criss-crosses is a further criss-cross with elongated lower limbs that cross the lower limbs of the large criss-crosses. This gives the appearance of a band of diamonds in relief at the base of the bowl. The foot is star cut and unmarked. Each glass has a height of approximately 20.9cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.5cm and across the foot of about 7.0cm. They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
