Pair of Edinburgh Crystal Large Fan and Cross Cut Lead Crystal Wine Glasses
For a full product description, see below.
This is a pair of good-quality cut and moulded lead crystal wine glasses by Edinburgh Crystal but pattern name unknown.
The rounded bowl tapers in slightly towards the rim. It is cut around the centre with a band of six large criss-crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come into close approximation. Above and below the centre of each large cross is a three-limbed fan cut. Within the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent diamonds is a large vertical cross, which is overcut with a lattice formed from two pairs of parallel lines.
There is a small collar at the junction of the bowl and the stem; there are six cut petals on the collar that extend down onto the stem as facets. There is a broader faceted collar at the junction of the stem and the plain, flat foot. The latter is unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 18.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.0cm and across the foot of about 6.7cm.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
