Pair of Early 20th Century Ribbed Lead Crystal Wine Flutes c.1900
For a full product description, see below.
This is a pair of high-quality lead crystal small wine flutes, maker unknown but dating to the early part of the 20th century.
Each glass has an elongated bowl, which widens out as it approaches the everted rim. The bowl is decorated with a fine vertical ribbed effect, sometimes referred to as ‘optic’. The bowl sits on a high ball knop, which merges with the short, tapering stem. The latter sits on the broad, plain foot. This is polished flat and unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.4cm and across the foot of about 5.4cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
