This is a pair of high-quality moulded lead crystal grapefruit dishes, designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass.

Each bowl is made from thick lead crystal. The exterior is textured, and the underside of the base is moulded with small dimples that resemble the centre of a flower. The interior is moulded with vertical ridges, which are designed to keep the grapefruit half in place. The rim is of undulating form.

They are unmarked.

Each dish has a maximum height of approximately 5.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 11.5cm and across the base of about 4.2cm. There are minor discrepancies in their dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glass.

They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
