Mtarfa Glass Pink and Green Swirled Bowl with Original Sticker
This is a highly attractive example of an art glass bowl produced by Mtarfa Glass in Malta.
This is a highly attractive example of an art glass bowl produced by Mtarfa Glass in Malta.
The bowl has a cylindrical upper portion, tapering in two-thirds of the way down. The bowl has been made in three layers; an inner mottled white layer, over which has been applied a bubbled pink and green layer that has been twisted and pulled up at the rim. The whole is encased in flint glass. The underside of the base is polished flat and hand signed with the word ‘MTARFA’.
In addition, the bowl bears the original black and gold sticker which reads ‘MTARFA GLASSBLOWERS MALTA’.
It has a height of approximately 7.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 13.1cm and across the base of about 5.4cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
