Midwinter ‘Roselle’ Design Coffee Pot

This is a nice example of a retro coffee pot from the ‘Roselle’ suite by Midwinter. The coffee pot has a cylindrical body and a plain tapering shoulder that leads to the rim. The handle is plain and extends from the shoulder to approximately two-thirds of the way down the body. The elongated curved pouring spout is pulled out from about two-thirds of the way down the body and extends up to the height of the rim. The body is decorated with a transfer printed design consisting of three rows of stylised blue flowers and foliage that alternate direction. The lid is discoid with a central discoid knop. It is decorated with a matte blue glaze. The underside of the base is marked in the centre with the words ‘ROSELLE MIDWINTER FINE TABLEWARE STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND’. In addition, it is impressed with the words ‘MIDWINTER ENGLAND’ around the edges. It has a maximum height to the top of the lid of approximately 20.6cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 7.2cm and across the base of about 9.6cm. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
