This is a striking example of a retro sugar bowl from the ‘Everglade’ range designed by Jessie Tait for Midwinter.
This is a striking example of a retro sugar bowl from the ‘Everglade’ range designed by Jessie Tait for Midwinter.
The bowl is approximately cylindrical in shape, stepping in slightly at the base. The body is transfer printed with a striped motif consisting of vertical bands of green and blue decorated with stylised foliage motifs in white and black respectively. The blue band is also ‘shadowed’ on one side with a stripe of darker blue and a further finer stripe of darker blue in between adjacent bands.
The base is transfer printed in black with the words ‘MIDWINTER FINE TABLEWARE STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND’.
It has a maximum height of approximately 5.6cm, a diameter across the rim of about 7.8cm and across the base of about 6.3cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
