This is a nice example of a cut lead crystal custard cup dating to around 1870.
The rounded bowl is decorated with a band of nine oval shaped thumb cuts. Below this is a band of small olive cuts that are staggered with respect to the thumb cuts above. The separately applied handle loops up above the bowl and has a decorative crimped lower attachment. There is a plain, short stem and the foot is plain with a central polished pontil.
It has a height of approximately 7.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.9cm and across the foot of about 5.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
