Mid-18th Century Trumpet Bowled Wine Glass c.1750
For a full product description, see below.
This is a crude example of a Georgian wine glass dating to around 1750.
The trumpet-shaped bowl tapers in and merges imperceptibly with the plain cylindrical stem. The foot is plain and conical; there is a central rough pontil.
It has a height of approximately 18.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.6cm and across the foot of about 7.0cm, although this is not entirely circular.
It is in fair condition for its age, with no chips or cracks. However, there are numerous fine scratches to the interior giving it a slightly cloudy appearance. There are also a number of enclosed bubbles and striations in the glass. The price is reflective of the wear and manufacturing flaws.
