Mid-18th Century Trumpet Bowled Large Wine Glass with Teardrop Stem c.1750
For a full product description, see below.
This is a crude example of a large Georgian wine glass dating to around 1750.
The trumpet-shaped bowl tapers in and merges imperceptibly with the plain cylindrical stem. This contains an inverted teardrop shaped bubble. The foot is plain and conical; there is a central rough pontil.
It has a height of approximately 20.3cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.7cm and across the foot of about 8.8cm.
It is in good condition for its age, with no chips or cracks. However, there are some wear and tear scratches to the interior and base of the bowl and underside of the foot. There are also a number of enclosed bubble and striations in the glass. The price reflects these facts.
