Late Victorian Triple Moulded Tazza or Sweetmeat Dish
This is a nice example of a moulded glass sweetmeat dish or tazza, probably British in origin and dating to around 1870.
This is a nice example of a moulded glass sweetmeat dish or tazza, probably British in origin and dating to around 1870.
The bowl has a fluted undulating rim and is moulded with a circle containing a complex central star pattern surrounded by moulded fans. The stem is plain and bears the remains of the mould lines. This merges with the star ‘cut’ foot, which has a thickened edge.
It has a maximum height of approximately 12.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 20.8cm and across the foot of about 9.6cm.
It is in good condition considering its age, with no chips or cracks. However, there are a number of wear and tear scratches to the bowl and underside of the foot. This wear is reflected in the price.
