This is a good quality lead crystal pickle jar, probably dating to about 1870.
The jar is broadly cylindrical and cut with a series of fourteen rounded pillars giving the base a fluted appearance. The neck is not ground. The shoulder is stepped. The hollow stopper is approximately mushroom shaped and mimics the design on the body. The peg is not ground.
The base has a large polished pontil and is unmarked.
The height including the stopper is approximately 13.6cm, with a diameter of about 7.1cm.
It is in good condition for its age. There is one very small chip to the base but this is barely visible. This damage is reflected in the price.
