Product Description

Details

This is a nice example of a classic Whitefriars design.

The jug has a rounded ribbed body, which tapers in to an angulated rim. The pouring spout is elongated. The flint handle is ‘celery stalk’ in form, arising from a wide attachment opposite the pouring spout and narrowing to a crimped lower attachment just above the base. The latter has a central polished out pontil.

This piece has the pattern number 9419 and appears on page 7 of the 1957 Whitefriars catalogue. This is the largest size from the range, measuring in at approximately 8 inches.

It has a height to the spout of about 20.8cm.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some wear and tear scratches to the base commensurate with the age of the piece.
