Large St. Agnes Pottery Blue and Pink Flower Vase with Impressed Floral Design
For a full product description, see below.
This is a striking example of a vase produced by the St. Agnes Pottery in Cornwall and dating to the latter quarter of the 20th century.
The vase is of classic form, with a thick everted rim and ovoid body. It is glazed on the interior in a glossy cobalt blue, which extends out onto the rim and shoulder. The latter is impressed with a repeating square motif, surmounting four equidistantly placed impressed flowers. Each flower sits on top of a long, vertical incised line, which extends down to just above the base.
The remainder of the body is glazed in a mottled pink and blue, which has a matte finish. On one side there is a trio of stylised flowers that have been impressed.
The base is unglazed and stamped off centre with the words ‘ST. AGNES POTTERY’.
It has a height of approximately 24.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 11.8cm and across the base of about 9.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
