Large Retro Cinque Ports Pottery (Rye) Ceramic Lamp Base with Electrical Fitting
For a full product description, see below.
This is an unusual and attractive lamp base by the Cinque Ports Pottery at Rye.
The lamp base is bulbous in form, with a mottled green glaze. The base is unglazed, revealing the underlying ceramic body to be off white in colour. There is a large central hole and the surrounding rim is marked with a partial backstamp, consisting of two concentric circles and the words ‘CINQUE PORTS POTTERY LTD’ and within the inner circle it reads 'THE MONASTERY RYE’.
The lamp is in full working order but has not been used since 2005, when it was last tested by a qualified electrician. The plug has the original sticker, signed by the tester. It is recommended that this item be retested before use.
It has a height (excluding the electrical fitting) of approximately 38.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
