Holmegaard Christmas Decanter with Original Sticker c.1999

This is a lovely example of a collectible decanter made to commemorate Christmas 1999 and was designed by Michael Bang and Jette Frölich for Holmegaard of Denmark.
The decanter is approximately rectangular in cross-section with rounded corners. It is decorated with Christmas scenes, including a woman arranging stylised holly leaves and berries, with a Christmas tree, lights, wreaths, decorations and an advent ribbon. There is a small collar at the junction of the shoulder and the short, cylindrical neck. The rim is plain and flat.
The base bears the remains of the original paper label, which reads ‘HOLMEGAARD OF COPENHAGEN BY APPOINTMENT TO THE ROYAL DANISH COURT MADE IN DENMARK 190’. It also bears the Danish flag and a crown logo.
The stopper is made from a tapered cork with a flat brass coloured top. This has a ring-pull on the apex.
It has a height to the rim of approximately 18.2cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
