This is a high quality cut lead crystal posy vase by Edinburgh Crystal.
The vase is of elongated ovoid form, with a narrow notched rim that widens out and then tapers back in again towards the thickened base. The body is cut with three criss-crosses, the lower limbs of which are elongated and extend down to meet the lower limbs of adjacent crosses. At this point they are surmounted by a five-pointed fan. The lower limbs of each large cross are joined by a curve wedge cut. Above this the slice-shaped section is filled with a lattice of small criss-crosses. Each large cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan. Between this repeating motif and the base there is a band of thick undulating vertical wedge cuts. The base is star cut and unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 12.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 3.7cm and across the base of about 4.2cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
