Edinburgh Crystal ‘Appin’ Design Brandy Glass

This is a highly attractive cut lead crystal brandy glass from the ‘Appin’ suite by Edinburgh Crystal. The balloon shaped bowl is cut at the base with a lattice of three rows of interlocking criss-crosses. Above this is a pattern of vertical wedge cuts, which appears staggered, as the cuts are placed at the point at which adjacent crosses touch alternating with just above the centre of each cross. The stem and foot are plain; the latter is marked in the centre with the words ‘EDINBURGH MADE IN SCOTLAND’. It has a height of approximately 11.4cm, with a diameter at the rim of about 5.7cm and at the foot of about 6.6cm. It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
