Early 20th Century Small Pink Lustre Souvenir Teapot from Weymouth
For a full product description, see below.
This is a charming piece of souvenir ware in classic form and dating to the turn of the 19th to 20th century.
The teapot is globular in shape and moulded with a scalloped leaf-like motif. The body is glazed in pink, and on one side there is a gilded cartouche with a transfer-printed scene of Weymouth in Dorset. The spout and handle are white, with gilding around the edges. There is also a band of gilding around the rim. The lid is domed, with a moulded scalloped motif around the edge. There is a central scrolled knop surmounting a small hole to allow for the expulsion of steam.
The underside of the teapot is plain and unmarked.
It has a height (including the lid) of approximately 12.5cm, with a maximum length from handle to spout of about 19.0cm and a diameter across the base of about 6.7cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some wear to the gilding on the handle, rim, and lid knop.
