Early 20th Century Schumann Bavaria ‘Halo’ Design Square Serving Dish

This is a highly attractive serving dish from the ‘Halo’ suite by Schumann Bavaria. The bowl is approximately square in shape, tapering in towards the base. The rim is scalloped and gilded, although the gilding is worn in places. The underside has an unglazed footrim, revealing the underlying ceramic to be white in colour. There is no mark but an incised number four. It has a height of approximately 5.5cm, with a width at the rim of about 20.0cm and a width across the base of about 13.4cm. It is in good condition for its age, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few wear and tear surface scratches and as previously mentioned the gilding is worn.
