This is a highly attractive example of a small posy vase, probably British in origin and dating to the turn of the 19th to 20th centuries.

The posy is fan-shaped and flattened. It tapers down to merge with a twisted bulbous knop. This upper portion is made from pale blue opalescent glass with integral blue stripes. It sits on a broad, flint glass foot. The latter has a central polished pontil and is unmarked.

It is similar to pieces made at this time by John Walsh Walsh and Stevens and Williams, although I have been unable to attribute it.

It has a maximum height of approximately 9.5cm, with a length across the rim of about 8.5cm and a depth of about 1.6cm. The foot has a diameter of approximately 6.2cm.

It has an unwrapped weight of 90g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
