Early 19th Century Small Novelty Drinking Glass with Spout
This is a nice example of a cordial or dram glass, probably British in origin and dating to around 1800.
This is a nice example of a cordial or dram glass, probably British in origin and dating to around 1800.
The glass has a conical bowl with an unusual tapered spout pulled out from the rim. The bowl tapers in and merges with the short solid stem. The foot is plain with a central rough pontil.
It has a height of approximately 8.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.6cm and across the foot of about 4.5cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few striations in the bowl and a large enclosed air bubble. These are manufacturing artefacts and do not detract from the piece in any way.
