This is a highly attractive flower vase by Radford and probably dating to the 1950s to 1960s.
The flower vase is approximately cylindrical, widening out towards the rim. This then angles inwards slightly. The edge of the rim and approximately one-quarter of the way down is glazed in a streaked dark green glaze. The body is glazed on the interior and exterior with a mottled pale yellow shade. There is a hand painted floral motif in yellow, green and brown that is repeated twice around the body.
The base is impressed at the edge with WOOD’S ENGLAND’ and what I believe is the number ‘247’. In addition, it is incised in the centre with ‘H I I’. It is also stamped in black with ‘E RADFORD ENGLAND HANDPAINTED’.
It has a height of approximately 21.9cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 17.1cm and across the base of about 10.0cm.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some crazing on the interior that is visible on inspection.
