Dümler & Breiden German Art Pottery Handled Bottle Vase 303-25
For a full product description, see below.
This is a nice example of a German art pottery vase by Dümler & Breiden.
The deep rim tapers slightly inwards before meeting the ‘waisted’ neck. The short neck originates at the junction of these two and terminates at the start of the shoulder. From here the body widens, tapering lower down towards the base.
The central part of the body is decorated with a moulded pattern consisting of two concentric grooves above and below a band with an impressed geometric pattern. There is a wide central portion, glazed in blue, which has a design of moulded curves. Below this is a repeat of the upper geometric pattern.
The base of the vase has ‘GERMANY’ and the figures ‘303-25’ impressed into it. The underlying pottery is a pale buff in colour, as evidenced by the unglazed foot rim. Otherwise the base has the same brown coloured glaze as that applied to the upper and lower part of the vase.
It has a height of approximately 26.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.0cm and across the base of about 9.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
