Denby ‘Greenwheat’ Design Lidded Mustard Pot
This is a stylish example of a mustard pot in the timeless ‘Greenwheat’ pattern by Denby.
This is a stylish example of a mustard pot in the timeless ‘Greenwheat’ pattern by Denby.
The pot has a rounded body that tapers in towards the slightly everted rim. The whole is glazed in off-white and has been hand painted with a stylised wheat design amongst stylised blades of grass. On the opposite side of the body there is a small stylised tuft of grasses. The lid is discoid with a notch on one side for placement of a spoon. It is glazed in dark green.
The base is marked in blue with an oval containing the words ‘BOURNE DENBY’ and the words ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’.
It has a maximum height (including the lid) of approximately 6.0cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.4cm and across the base of about 4.2cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
