Davidson ‘Jacobean’ Design Large Moulded Glass Jug or Pitcher
For a full product description, see below.
This is a handsome example of a cut and moulded lead crystal pitcher or jug from the ‘Jacobean’ range by Davidson Glass.
The body of the jug is approximately oval in cross-section and is moulded with a grid of concave squares. The neck is moulded with concave panels and the rim is of undulating form. The strap-like handle is drawn out from the rim and extends down to just above the base. The whole sits on a oval foot that has a scalloped edge and is star cut in the middle.
It has a maximum height of approximately 16.4cm, with a maximum width across the rim of about 11.1cm and a maximum length from spout to handle of about 22.0cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a number of enclosed bubbles within the glass.
