Dartington Glass ‘Sharon’ Design Wine Goblet FT115/3 with Charles & Diana Wedding Motif
For a full product description, see below.
This is an unusual high-quality lead crystal wine goblet from the ‘Sharon’ suite, designed by Frank Thrower in 1970 for Dartington Glass.
The conical bowl merges imperceptibly with the tapering stem. The latter contains an enclosed air bubble. The foot is discoid and unmarked. It is engraved in the centre with the letters ‘L. M. S.’
The bowl is printed with an unusual motif consisting of two portraits, one of Prince Charles and one of Lady Diana Spencer. Between them is the Prince of Wales crest flanked by the letters ‘C’ and ‘D’, and the date ‘1981’.
It has a height of approximately 22.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.3cm and across the foot of about 7.9cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 275ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 280g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
