This is a nice example of a lead crystal ashtray from the ‘Daisy’ suite, designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass in 1976.
The ashtray is made from thick lead crystal and is moulded with eight petals around the rim. There is a depression between each petal. The underside of the base is moulded with a daisy motif. The exterior has a textured finish, while the top and interior are smooth.
It has a height of approximately 3.8cm, and a maximum diameter across the rim of about 11.6cm.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some wear and tear scratches to the base and interior commensurate with use.
