Dartington Crystal ‘ShuggyBar’ Design Barbecue Candleholder FT408 in Optic with Original Sticker
For a full product description, see below.
This is classic example of a lead crystal candleholder from the ‘ShuggyBar’ range, originally designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Glass.
The piece is approximately tulip-shaped, with an everted rim and flattened globular body. This merges with the short, thick cylindrical base; this is marked on the underside with the Dartington ‘D’ logo.
In addition, the piece bears the remains of the original black and gold sticker, which reads ‘DARTINGTON ENGLAND’. This is indicative of ‘first’ quality.
It has a height of approximately 13.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of 8.9cm and across the base of about 5.6cm.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd wear and tear scratch to the body commensurate with age.
