Colclough ‘Braganza’ Design Bone China Trio No. 8454
For a full product description, see below.
This is a high-quality bone china cup, saucer and side plate set from the ‘Braganza’ suite by Colclough.
The cup is approximately rounded with a slightly everted gilded rim. It sits on a plinth-like foot, the edge of which is also gilded. On either side of the ornate gilded handle is a transfer printed stylised floral motif in various shades of blue.
The saucer has a gently scalloped gilded rim that is raised. There is a central cup ring that is encircled by four repeating floral motifs in various shades of blue.
The side plate also has a gently scalloped rim that is broad and flattened. It is transfer printed with five repeating panels of stylised flowers in blue, although this could be mistaken as one single ring of transfer print. The centre is plain.
The underside of all three pieces is plain and marked in the centre with a black crown logo surmounting the words ‘COLCLOUGH BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND’.
The cup has a height of approximately 7.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.7cm and across the foot of about 4.5cm. The saucer has a diameter across the rim of about 13.7cm and the side plate has a diameter across the rim of about 15.8cm.
They have an unwrapped weight of 430g.
They are in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is noticeable wear to the gilding on the cup rim that is commensurate with use. This wear is reflected in the price.
