Carnival Glass

Carnival Glass

‘Carnival Glass’ is the name given to moulded glass sprayed with chemicals to give it an iridescent surface. It was first made during the 1900s, having been inspired by Tiffany’s Favrile glass, and was often known as ‘Poor Man’s Tiffany’. It came to be called Carnival glass during the 1960s, probably because it was used for prizes at fairs.

Legacy Antiques stocks an interesting selection of ‘Carnival Glass’ by many famous American and British companies.
