This is a stunning example of a scent bottle, possibly continental and dating to the Art Deco period.

The bottle is made from a vivid shade of blue glass. The rim is galleried above the short neck. This widens out to merge with the stepped shoulder. The body widens out further and is cut with a band of vertical facets. Below this the body steps back in again before merging with the thick, discoid base. The latter is polished flat and unmarked.

The stopper echoes the shape of the bottle, with a domed apex that surmounts a stepped portion. Below this the stopper is facet cut and tapering as it approaches the peg. The latter is ground to allow for close fitting with the neck of the bottle.

It has a height (including the stopper) of approximately 15.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 4.1cm and across the base of about 7.1cm.

It is in fair condition, although there is considerable water marking on the interior of the bottle. This is only visible when dry and closely inspected; when filled with liquid it cannot be seen. There are also a few small nicks in the cutting on both components. Although minimal, this wear is reflected in the price.
