Product Description

Details

This is a stunning example of a carnelian necklace dating to the Art Deco period.

This single string necklace is made from thirty-one hand cut and polished carnelian beads. The colour is superb; each bead is totally unique, with swirls of white and black throughout. Most beads are opaque but one or two are slightly translucent. Between each bead is a large knot of red string; this is over-tied with a thinner gold coloured thread.

The necklace has a measurement (all the way round) of approximately 79.0cm. The beads are slightly graduated in size – the largest is 2.8cm in length and the smallest is 2.0cm in length.

It is in good condition, considering its age. There are one or two small nicks out of a couple of the beads but these are barely discernible, and do not detract from the piece in any way.
