1960s Retro Blue Mountain Pottery Green Ceramic Ashtray
For a full product description, see below.
This is a classic piece of smoking ephemera produced by Blue Mountain Pottery and dating to the 1960s.
The ashtray is approximately kidney-shaped and is pulled up off-centre to form three cigarette rests. The whole has been glazed with a mottled and streaked shade of green, with the edges being highlighted in a pale brown. The underside is moulded with the word ‘CANADA’ and the letters ‘BMP’. The limbs of the M are curved under the other letters to look like a mountain; this mark was in use from the mid-1960s.
It has a maximum height of approximately 5.0cm and a maximum length of about 19.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 510g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some minor crazing to the glaze.
