1950s Art Deco Style Liqueur Decanter and Four Glasses

This is a lovely example of a retro 1950s enamelled decanter and glasses set. The decanter is globular in form, with a short neck that has a galleried rim. The rim, top of the shoulder and foot have a gilded band. The remainder of the decanter is decorated with four circumferential lines in yellow enamel, forming bands which contain a random pattern of red spots. The stopper is in green glass and is of tapering hexagonal form. There is a short neck with a ground glass peg to allow close fitting with the neck. The glasses are rounded, with a low set ‘waist’, which is surrounded by a gilt band. The upper part of the bowl has two bands of yellow enamel and a staggered spotted design to match the decanter. The foot is in green glass, to match the stopper of the decanter. The decanter has a total height (including the stopper) of approximately 21.5cm, and without the stopper of about 16.0cm. Each glass has a height of approximately 6.0cm. They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are some very faint water marks on the interior of the decanter. This is only noticeable upon the closest of scrutiny.
