1930s Art Deco Style Lemonade Jug with Gold Handle
For a full product description, see below.
This is a stylish lemonade jug in Art Deco style and probably originating from Czechoslovakia.
The jug has an elongated tapering body, narrowing as it approaches the rim. The lower two-thirds of the body is cut with ten fine vertical lines. In the space between each line are three teardrop shaped vertical lines that alternate in direction with respect to one another. There is a separately applied angular handle that has been gilded. The base is plain with a central polished pontil.
It has a height of approximately 25.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.4cm and across the base of about 7.0cm.
It is in good condition for its age, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few scratches to the body and the base and some rubbing to the gilding. This wear is reflected in the price.
