1930s Alfred Meakin Floral Printed Dessert Bowl

This is a highly attractive vintage fruit bowl by Alfred Meakin. The bowl has a flattened scalloped rim that is gilded. This tapers in to form a round bowl shape that is decorated with four sprigs of stylised flowers. The underside of the bowl is transfer printed in green with the words ‘ALFRED MEAKIN ENGLAND’. It has a width at the rim of about 16.8cm and a diameter across the base of about 7.2cm. It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some wear to the gilding and the transfer printed design.
